A Shout-Out to Good Friends -- Melissa and Paul
To me there is nothing more beautiful than seeing people coming together and creating. Be it art, music, movies, books, robots, etc. To share thoughts and to be able to work on the same wave length is astounding and there are no words for how amazing that is. It's a feeling unlike anything else to be a part of that entity and witnessing that organism. In this day and age this occurrence, to me, is rare to find and finding it is definitely worth noting and following.
Melissa & Paul is that beautiful creation.
Yesterday, October 15th, marked their first complete year as a band. With a dual 7" record, seventy-four shows, and a month long US tour, Melissa and Paul have done more than most bands do in 5 years. We here at Voodoo Pork want to extend a hand of gratitude and thank Melissa and Paul for the mark they have made on today's music.
Their music is an original take on blues/rock n' roll with an intense punk attitude/influence. I can guarantee they are better than the band you're listening to right now. Please, come out to one of their shows and support them by buying their records.

PARKS. - Growth [Soundtrack]

VP003 -- PARKS. - Growth [Soundtrack] (Free download!!!)
Back in 2008, PARKS. (before PARKS. was born) was asked by close friend and amazing filmmaker/musician, Steve Craig, to do some ambient/noise/drone for his short film entitled, "Growth". After about an hour in Awjita's practice space, PARKS. recorded this live soundtrack. Each part has a different feel: One, being mainly a straight noise-ish "song", Two, being a minimalist piece with guitar and effects, Third, being a drone-ish track with microphone effects and Fourth, being drone-ish track with various instruments.
Steve later decided to get multiple musicians to do the same and edited it down into a mix that he liked best.
This is the entire PARKS. version with nothing cut, no edits, no nothing. Pure, live, noise, beautiful. I hope you all enjoy and pass it on.

A Not-So-Very-Good-Gift Gift (Sorry we forgot to give ya the reciept)
Here's a little treat that we wanted to share with you all! While Chris was going through the TASCAM mixing the Holy the Bastards songs he stumbled upon this old gem that he recorded a year or two back. It's a quick little nice song to let you ponder existence a little. So, kick back and absorb the lo-fi sounds.

Currently working on the re-mixes of the Holy the Bastards songs. They are coming out way better than before. It's great to hear these songs again and the fact that they're still fresh is a huge weight off our shoulders. I was afraid of listening to these songs again and finding out that they weren't as good as I thought they were and that they were just plain shit. But, they are not shit. They are the least bit shitty. The only shitty part of the songs were the shitty vocals that were there. Those shit vocals butchered the songs. Maybe one day you will all hear them...but I don't think so.
Anyway,
I thought I would let you all know that we're working on them now and soon Sean Kneese will be doing some bad-ass vox. I got a text from him asking if I sent the songs yet, which made my heart grow knowing he still cares about doing them and not just humoring me. So, till next time keep rockin'.

Update -- August 24th, 2011 at 12:33am
Hey, What's up? How are ya? Oh, good...good. Glad to hear it!
Boy, we sure have been busy this past month as I'm sure you all have been as well.
Here are some updates for our friends stuff (gotta spread the love, yall feel me):
1.) Our dear friends at Electric Windmill Press released their first monthly zine and it came out amazing!!! It's available for free as a PDF file or for $3.75 Jess and Brian have put together a perfect zine. Filled with outstanding and inspiring poems, stories and drawings from various people around the U.S., this is something not to be missed. Also, they're accepting submissions for their next installment of the zine. Check it out ya bastah'ds!
2.) MEAN FOLK -- Our close friend Jon Testa and his fellow companions have an incredible, I mean fucking awesome, art/graphic design/photography group that shouldn't be left unmentioned. If you're into good stuff you HAVE TO check them out. Very bleak, raw, interesting, and original creative works that feed your eyes and brain tasty yum yums. If you're in need for a bad-ass album cover, logo, flyer, photo, or anything, these are the dudes to go to. Please, check it out if ya don't we'll hurt you and you'll be uncool and made fun of when you go back to school. Here is the link again: www.meanfolk.com
Here are some updates for us:
1.) We'll be shelving the PARKS. new album "Experiment: Number One" due to lack of interest. It was just one of those things that came premature and wasn't sought out the correct way. I know you'll be saddened but sometimes there comes a time when you have to stop something you don't feel anymore, a relationship with a loved one, a game of monopoly, it's all for the better. Besides, you wouldn't want your favorite band to release a shitty record now would ya? We'll see what time will tell...
2.) Broken Home is working on its full-length right now. Ryan told us that it's coming out great so far and that everything is working out very smoothly. We talked with the guys and decided to release this on cassette and have it limited to 75 copies. *This is a tentative idea* 50 of one color which will be the standard release. A second color split up: 15 copies on a second color with screen print poster and a pre-order of 10 on the second color with a limited screen print poster plus bonus surprise! We'll talk more with the guys and let ya know more details. Here's the link for the Demo download : ) Broken Home
3.) We're talking shop with our friend Zach from North Carolina in the band Lost Trail. We'll hopefully be putting out something relatively soon for him. Updates will be given when we get them :)
4.) Prior to the incarnation of Voodoo Pork, Chris had dreams of recording a project with hints of sludge/grind and punk while also making a label to release this project. He recorded all the music, did vocals, bought tapes and put the music onto the tapes. Sadly after re-listening to it he hated the vocals and lyrics and never wanted this project to see the light of day. Until now. After roughly two years of sleeping, Holy the Bastards is waking up and gettin' its groove on. We're going back and remastering them to get the best heavy mix as possible. Also, we're deleting the fuck out of Chris' vocals and inviting our talented friend Sean Kneese to redo the lyrics and vocals. Finally, the first album made for Voodoo pork will be released and us here at the label are ecstatic about it! Updates will be given when we get them :)
That's all folks! Hope you're as happy as we are. Till next time,
Love your friends. Die Laughing. -Pg.99

Slackers, We Are
Good afternoon ladies and germs,

We'd like to welcome home Four Fingers from their month tour! Good job guys!
In correlation with this joyous event we're putting up a new free download!
"What is it of?" you ask yourself. Well, what other then Broken Home! A new project from Ryan Betrix (Four Fingers, ex-Nuclear Shakedown) and Chris (Four Fingers, PARKS.)
This demo was recorded in DeBois, PA at our friend Chris from HisDayHasCome's basement. Recorded in about an hour and a half, this rough e.p. clocks in at 6 minutes and 4 seconds. Awesome! Five songs, one track, this might be the best release of the summer.
Anyway, check it out and pass it on!
Godluck and goodspeed.

Seth Putnam Dying of a Heart Attack is Gay
Yesterday,
The man/myth/legend/scumbag, Seth Putnam, died of a heart attack. This truly saddens us here at Voodoo Pork because he was such an inspiration to many, asshole to many more, but still an inspiration. Seth was the lead singer of about a million bands primarily Anal Cunt, who in some way or another started the "noise-core" genre of grindcore. He also did vocals for: Eyehategod (for a tour), Full Blown A.I.D.S., Impaled Northern Moonforest, and Vaginal Jesus to name very few. His scream was chaotic, angry, insane and beautiful. Not many can have a voice like he did and it's a shame that scream has been silenced. Well, wherever you are Seth I hope you're shootin' up, offending people and screaming your fucking ass off.

What's Up Dude?!
Hey how's it going? Oh, good to hear.
So, I'm sure you've all been saying to yourself, "Where's this new Parks. album? I thought it was supposed to be out early June. What's the big idea?", "What's taking so damn long. I mean come on it's not like it's tough work!"
To answer your inquiries: The new album is on its way. Parks. informed me that, "It's been a real hassle finding days to record but what's been recorded is superb!...", also, "There have been dozens upon dozens of ideas for packaging, yet we've still haven't found the right one...trust us this is going to be raw and beautiful stuff."
Wow! I sure can't wait. Also, Parks. has sent us pictures from a recording session. Check them out!

Electric Windmill Press
Get a load of this!
Our dear friends over in Seattle have done it this time. Finally, FINALLY, us poets/writers/punk rockers have a place where OUR sick and dying, OUR tormented and depraved, OUR melancholy and scornful, OUR joyous and inspiring scribblings can go and be saved from this mortal coil.
Brian Le Lay (ya know the wacko from that doom band Bloodkitt. Yeah, the same guy with the strange facial hair) and his side-kick Jess Dykstra (is that how ya spell it? sorry jess) put together a publishing company that would serve as a way to get their own writings/drawings/ideas out to the people because no one else would do it and also to get YOUR writing out there. This is pure D.I.Y. from the heart baby.
I feel a tremendous amount of inspiration from this astounding achievement and I know other D.I.Y. groups do to. We're all here together so lets support one another!
Please check out http://www.electricwindmillpress.com
Thanks and happy trails,

LOGO!
Dear Earthlings,
I (Chris) spent like seventeen hours drawing up and photoshopin' this kickin' logo. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. I feel it represents the 'label' fairly well, "Creative, strange and flawed, yet passionate". Yeah.... I like that.
We hope to be getting things into high-gear very soon. So, stay tuned and take 'er easy.

PARKS.-E.P. (2011)

Here it is folks. The noise release you've been waiting for all year! Ladies and Germs, I present to you PARKS.- E.P. 22 minutes of fierce screams, harsh distortion and bitchin' delays packaged beautifully in hand-sewn pieces of t-shirt! Recorded on April 1st, 2011 live with one microphone through a couple of guitar pedals. With no over-dubs and no after effects this shit is the real deal baby. The tape also comes with a digital download that has eight, yes, EIGHT(8) more minutes of noise not on the tape! Wow, now that's a deal if I ever saw one. This is the first of many releases on Voodoo Pork and we're proud to start of with a noisy bang. Peace out. -Chris
