Hey, What's up? How are ya? Oh, good...good. Glad to hear it!
Boy, we sure have been busy this past month as I'm sure you all have been as well.
Here are some updates for our friends stuff (gotta spread the love, yall feel me):
1.) Our dear friends at Electric Windmill Press released their first monthly zine and it came out amazing!!! It's available for free as a PDF file or for $3.75 Jess and Brian have put together a perfect zine. Filled with outstanding and inspiring poems, stories and drawings from various people around the U.S., this is something not to be missed. Also, they're accepting submissions for their next installment of the zine. Check it out ya bastah'ds!
2.) MEAN FOLK -- Our close friend Jon Testa and his fellow companions have an incredible, I mean fucking awesome, art/graphic design/photography group that shouldn't be left unmentioned. If you're into good stuff you HAVE TO check them out. Very bleak, raw, interesting, and original creative works that feed your eyes and brain tasty yum yums. If you're in need for a bad-ass album cover, logo, flyer, photo, or anything, these are the dudes to go to. Please, check it out if ya don't we'll hurt you and you'll be uncool and made fun of when you go back to school. Here is the link again: www.meanfolk.com
Here are some updates for us:
1.) We'll be shelving the PARKS. new album "Experiment: Number One" due to lack of interest. It was just one of those things that came premature and wasn't sought out the correct way. I know you'll be saddened but sometimes there comes a time when you have to stop something you don't feel anymore, a relationship with a loved one, a game of monopoly, it's all for the better. Besides, you wouldn't want your favorite band to release a shitty record now would ya? We'll see what time will tell...
2.) Broken Home is working on its full-length right now. Ryan told us that it's coming out great so far and that everything is working out very smoothly. We talked with the guys and decided to release this on cassette and have it limited to 75 copies. *This is a tentative idea* 50 of one color which will be the standard release. A second color split up: 15 copies on a second color with screen print poster and a pre-order of 10 on the second color with a limited screen print poster plus bonus surprise! We'll talk more with the guys and let ya know more details. Here's the link for the Demo download : ) Broken Home
3.) We're talking shop with our friend Zach from North Carolina in the band Lost Trail. We'll hopefully be putting out something relatively soon for him. Updates will be given when we get them :)
4.) Prior to the incarnation of Voodoo Pork, Chris had dreams of recording a project with hints of sludge/grind and punk while also making a label to release this project. He recorded all the music, did vocals, bought tapes and put the music onto the tapes. Sadly after re-listening to it he hated the vocals and lyrics and never wanted this project to see the light of day. Until now. After roughly two years of sleeping, Holy the Bastards is waking up and gettin' its groove on. We're going back and remastering them to get the best heavy mix as possible. Also, we're deleting the fuck out of Chris' vocals and inviting our talented friend Sean Kneese to redo the lyrics and vocals. Finally, the first album made for Voodoo pork will be released and us here at the label are ecstatic about it! Updates will be given when we get them :)
That's all folks! Hope you're as happy as we are. Till next time,
Love your friends. Die Laughing. -Pg.99
